In March 2013 we heard that we’d been successful in our bid for funding of £1,880 from the Elspeth Thompson Bursary Fund, managed by the Royal Horticultural Society and the National Gardens Scheme. The bursary is intended to support individuals and community projects to create a garden for the benefit of the community, or to enable them to acquire horticultural knowledge and skills and to develop and share their love of gardening. This funding allowed us to buy the equipment, materials, seeds and plants to create the garden at Charlton Station.
We have also raised money from plant sales and raffles to fund our publicity and administration, and received a wide range of support from our partners and the local community.
In order to continue developing the garden we have successfully attracted sponsorship from local businesses – look at our sponsors page for details.
We also raise some additional funding from easyfundraising.org.uk – where our supporters can choose to donate to us as they shop at a wide range of online retailers.
