Garden is looking good after 2nd clearing session.

Thanks to all who came to yesterday’s clearing session.

We are thrilled by both the good turnout and by what we have achieved together.  The ground  has been cleared of weeds for Phase 2 of the garden.  The silver birch trees, buddleja and grapevine are looking great now that  more weeds (especially the pesky bindweed!)  have been cleared away from them.

The two new raised beds are due to be  installed by the end of this month. We will be in touch shortly with future dates for planting and group sessions.

Another successful clearing session

Hard at work!

Hard at work!

We had a good turnout for our latest clearing session at the station yesterday.  We cleared most of the area near the platform ready for the next raised beds to be installed.  Many thanks to those that turned out and to neighbours who loaned their wheelie bins for the rubbish.

There’s another clearing session next Sunday 8th September at 10.00 am to finish the work, so please come along.

Please note – we’ve had to postpone the delivery of the raised beds, so the dates planned for filling them and planting them up have also had to be changed.  We’ll advise the new dates as soon as we can.

Clearing session this Sunday 1st September

I hope everyone has been enjoying the summer and are now feeling nice and relaxed.  We have our next clearing session organised for this Sunday, 1st September, from 2-4 pm at Charlton Station.  We plan to start clearing the area near the platform ready for putting in 2 more raised beds.  The work will mainly involve getting out the stumps of most of the existing shrubs, so will be quite heavy work. However,  there will be some weeding and litter picking as well, so there’s something for everyone to get involved in. Please wear suitable boots/shoes and bring gloves and tools if you have them, although we do have some available if you don’t.

New people are always welcome and we look forward to seeing you there.
